Today’s News:

.

We want to thank our amazing staff for working through less than ideal, working conditions last week.  You continued to give wonderful care, in the heat and darkened areas. Even knowing that at home, you were going to have your own issues to deal with when you got off, you came in and gave your best.  Our thanks, and prayers, are with you all.

The heat is back this week!  Today we will see temps in the 90’s, and they will remain in the 80’s and 90’s throughout the week.  I don’t see any storms in our future, but as we know that can change.

We had a pretty good turn out last week for crafts.  I hope even more will join us this week.  Let’s get those creative juices flowing.

We hope to get our Friday bingo back on track this week.  Last Friday we made it work with our staff improvising.  Please understand that the bingo rules on Friday with our volunteers are different than when our staff runs the Tuesday bingo.  Due to the smaller number of helpers on Tuesday, our rules are more relaxed, but the Friday bingo follows our traditional rules.

This week’s Prayer:

Dear God, you have been our comfort and strength
in these times of sudden disaster, crisis, and chaos.
Surround us now with your grace and peace
as we go through the cleanup and repair.

May your Holy Spirit, liftup those who are still working through power outages, and damage to the degree that they are homeless.
Sustain them as they work to rescue or rebuild,
and fill us with the hope of your new creation;
through you, our rock and redeemer. Amen
